BTW shaving cream pie administered by Mike Green. Hopefully he didn’t further injure himself… ;-)
IS PЯESS BOX NOW
Good thing it was shaving cream. Had it been whipped cream, it might not have made it to MP.

I’m a really huge believer in Tomas Fleischmann.

I hope the Flash-hating doesn’t continue this year. Last year everyone on this site was starting to annoy me. I, like Bruce, have a love affair with Flash, and I will admit it. I’m not gay, however.
I do love me some flash! I kinda kept it in the closet though. Fear of retribution and all.
"And next year it will be ours."
Last year everyone on this site was presenting fact-based opinions that pointed out Flash’s shortcomings and that was starting to annoy me.
Fixed that for you.

In fairness, Flash was great last year until he got pneumonia, and then he became a problem. Was AHL time the answer? Maybe. Was forcing him out on top scoring lines the answer? Probably not. I’m a huge Flash supporter, and I don’t know if anyone was more vocal about it than I, but the opinions by other people that Flash was worthy of goat status were pretty much backed up and (at the time)valid. I just happened to think he could snap out of it.
I'm so sick and tired of the refs explaining the calls like this is the NFL.
It’s just that the only real argument I remember was “he won’t go to the net!” “why won’t he go to the net?” and it just wasn’t logical to me. He’s just not that kind of player. Not to mention, Bruce is the one behind the bench, so there’s nothing anyone can do about it. There’s plenty of players I don’t want to see out there, but I don’t bitch about them.
First, “he won’t go to the net” wasn’t the only argument (here at least). People also thought he was inconsistent, soft on the puck, and not terribly good at defense.
Second, a huge part of his success so far has been going to the net. On some level that has to vindicate the “he won’t go to the net” crowd and it certainly refutes your claim that “He’s just not that kind of player.” This year he is that kind of player, so far. If he keeps it up he’ll change the minds of a lot of the anti-Flash crowd, but let’s keep in mind this is a real small sample size (though he does look to have turned a corner).

Semin was great last year while AO was out, but we still point out his short comings. Theo has been great this year, but we still point out his shortcomings. Why should anyone be exempt from comment.
Flash was great before he got sick. One of his oft mentioned short comings is that he has “Flashes” of greatness but can’t maintain that consistently. Nobody here will hate on Flash if he keeps on doing what he’s been doing. To me, the jury is still out on whether he can maintain this level, or half of it. I hope Bruce’s love affair is validated.
"I think the relentless negative coverage in The Washington Post is a real difference from previous years," Redskins general counsel David Donovan said. "But in terms of the way our actual fans are behaving, we don't see any difference."
That Puck Daddy list
takes you back through some really grizzly memories
no kidding - it didn’t happen this decade, but it brought back to memory Clint Malarchuk … that was just plain scary.

BTW, that column on the sidebar about swine flu shots? Unbelievable. That guy is equating financial inequality to health care inequality. I hope he’s got a pregnant wife who can’t get a shot because they ran out. (Not wishing her to get sick, mind you, just that, heck, life isn’t fair, is it?)
I can’t see it. Maybe this is a good thing.

I’m a little confused as to your point. Basically, the guy defended hockey players jumping to the head of the line, essentially because they’re hockey players and breathe on each other all the time. Oh, and hey, the team owner has the money, so if he can arrange it, great. It’s the sense of entitlement that galls me.
Its a great argument, maybe they should have them at the top of all the Metro escalators? After all, we gov’t workers have the US tax payers backing us right?

Please look at the silver lining, six weeks off now versus April/May. just think how hungry Ovie will be come playoff time!
Why is that a plus side? Because he is so old and would have been tired without this break? Because he gets injured for 6 weeks every year so it’s good that he got injured earlier instead of later?
One guy just drove his semi as a float. I guess semis are cool.
No, because he didn’t look hungry last playoffs.

I’m digging a little here, but how about because he’s going to play in an Olympic tournament instead of an all star game in the middle of this season?
