Giroux’s purpose in life appears to be to give the opposing goalie a good detailed view of his hockey pants.

kinda sucks we don’t have another obvious winger or young winger to pull up, this is where we’re missing bourque. But why don’t they call Gordon up again?
Part of the Caps’ organization philosophy is to call up a guy whose style of play meshes with what they’re looking for. They had Giroux on the first line at practice, so it looks like they wanted to call up a guy with offensive upside rather than a grinder.
Personally, I’d rather see them shuffle guys that are already here and replace a bottom slot with A. Gordon or whomever. I mean, is there any reason to think Giroux will do better at 1R than Flash or Fehr would or that he deserves a shot at the spot ahead of those guys? That said, anything that gets Clark off the top line is probably an improvement.

So would I. We know what Giroux is at the NHL level (not much), so why not take the chance to get another look at a guy like Gordon or Osala. Y’know, someone who might be a part of the team at the NHL level at some point.
I’d love to see Osala get a call-up. I don’t think i’ve ever seen him play, besides at development camp and maybe a brief big league call-up.

I’d prefer him to Giroux. I think it’s better to see what we have in Osala than it is to see Giroux. If Osala is going to be trade bate, and most of our prospects are or should be, then we should figure out which ones we think are going to pan out and which ones aren’t.
If consequences dictate the course of action, then it doesn't matter what's right, it's only wrong if you get caught. If consequences dictate the course of action, then I should play God...

I dunno…I’d be reluctant to split up the 21 – 9 – 16 line as I thought they looked good last game…and I don’t know that Flash is a good fit to play with 8 – 19. I’m not sure who I’d slot in the top line…but I can think of a couple of players I’d bring up over Giroux.
Lots of news from Corey – and both Giroux and Perreault will be rolling into Bell Centre with big posses.
SO FЯIENDS, IS BATTLE NOW.
I was going to make a joke about Giroux being a translator, but maybe the organization wanted to give AG a chance to play in front of the hometown crowd. Though hometown boy JT most likely gets a baseball cap and a seat on the bench.
