Kind of surpised, but good for Neuvy.

Remember that Varly played his first NHL game vs. Les Canadiens, getting the win. Hopefully it’ll be the same for Neuvy.

Please, sir, I want some BMo.

It was an absolutely unfun night for the Caps offense as Carey Price is on a mega hot streak performed like a Vezina Trophy winner at Goal. While the Caps made one mistake too many and it cost them.

Yeah, good catch – obviously not everyone will be healthy and each player has a role to play so call ups somewhat match the role of the injured player. At this point I don’t know what to think of the Nyles situation. I prefer not to think of it at all and just hope for the quickest resolution.

More injuries for Caps. Tom Poti has left bench. Tyler Slaon back on defense.

This is more and more looking like a injury redux of last year. GMGM and Fishman are probably running cap numbers as I type this.

Beagle didn’t skate nervous but his hands/stick played a bit that way

I’m with Gouldie. Better team did not win it tonight. They all know it. Montreal dodged a season’s worth of bullets tonight.

I pity the Leafs tomorrow.

Hopefully they can pay them back in a week, or else I’m blowing money on other stuff to do in Montreal.

I saw a Caps game up there.

There was a really great Italian restaurant close to te arena, the creamy pasta sauce alone made me gain 5 pounds.
Nightlife was great but I must’ve missed the amazing touristy thing.

by Icebat on Nov 20, 2009 9:41 PM EST up reply actions

Not even doing the touristy thing (leaving Friday, coming back Sunday), strictly hockey, bringing back Cubans, maybe going to a strip club or two.

Sounds like a perfect weekend.

Try Solid Gold on St-Laurent. Avoid the “Downtown” on St-Catherine though, tourist trap. They try to be an American strip club with no touching >.>

Cool; much obliged.

Was it called Lo Stivale D’oro? If so that’s my dad’s restaurant!

Lots of former habs used to eat there, Carbo and Huet were regulars.

I walked in to talk to my dad one day and Huet was enjoying his fish. Little did I know he was going to be a cap only a few weeks later.

A solid effort. A few bad bounces and hit crossbars. Everybody seemed to work hard.

by Gould Old Days on Nov 20, 2009 9:39 PM EST reply actions

He got caught pinching on a play earlier in the game that led to an odd-man rush, but otherwise thought he did OK (led the team in hits)

I thought he did great. He was into the play, hitting hard, shooting, and no big mistakes.

I thought he looked pretty good, comfortable. He’s a good fit, had some good hits, moves well. Had a wicked good shot which plinked the post.

He looked good to me. Good focus, overall, and no fear on the hits.

The Canadiens announcers gushed about his size and promise. He did some good things.
The Habs tried to make him look like a rookie with an unnecessary no-look back pass on that break-away which luckily ended up fizzling

again....

another one goal loss…… they are in every game this year. just a frustrating nite - nothing going our way.

but taking 3 penalties in the 3rd period didn’t help our cause. first time i’ve seen a diving call in a long time…. (BMo got “caught” doing that) I didn’t think it was a dive…there was a stick in between his legs - and I’m talking about the wooden kind….

I couldn’t believe that call. I’ve NEVER seen a fiving call. And later on, I saw a dive made by a Canadien that would have made a Eudyptula proud. Eudyptula is the scientific classification of the LIttle Fairy Penguin and translates literally to “good little diver”.

faceoff

Did anyone see the faceoff in the 3rd period (midway thru , I think)?? The linesman got fed up waiting for the Habs center and just dropped it without him there. Caps won that draw easily…. never seen that before.

Montreal announcers said it was a set play(?)
Let them win the faceoff?!!

I don’t think so

the officiating was miserable. was it my imagination, or did the refs seem a bit chippy?

another to be called up from Hershey for Poti … will it be Alzner?

I’m guessing it’ll be a F; Sloan fell back to take Poti’s spot.

It’s possible; you could put Steckel on the 4th line, move Beagle to that wing and put OO on the left side of the Perreault line.

It’s a great feeling knowing that Hershey can be tapped for NHL caliber players. Once upon a time that was not so…

But Brawndo's got what plants crave. It's got electrolytes.

The boys on Hershey are probably better than the guys we got. (LOL) Okay, I’m just annoyed since we lost — again. In a game we once led.
