Ok, as a total rookie at this; so penalty minutes is a good thing?

by Ice Warrior on Oct 4, 2009 1:01 PM EDT reply actions

It’s a custom league, so I’d assume that WM wanted it to be that way. It makes sense in a way, and adds to the draft strategy aspect. Players who tend to take a lot of penalties usually score less and spend less time on the ice, which are also categories in this league.

Typical fantasy rules. Each category is a “goal”
Most goals wins

So Semin was the #1 pick?

PIMs is good in most leagues. My other league they are not, but I customed those things. It gives popularity to the goon, pretty much, and gives you a reason to take one.

I'm so sick and tired of the refs explaining the calls like this is the NFL.

Team Hill is now known as The Royal Tenenbaums

I’m a complete rookie, so I don’t expect very well, I’m sure I’ll have fun trying though

an early league lead in goals. i’ll be liking that gaborik pick right up until the point he gets injured.

and the league leader in assists……the goon squad. go figure.

well, the goon squad has Backstrom (and contrary to the name, doesn’t have too many goons)

btw, it sucks big time that i can’t move sean avery to my IR. the guy has said he won’t play until thursday and yet ESPN lists him as day-to-day.

My abbreviation is now swim, hoping to keep up the good luck i got on d this weekend, not counting on it though

Where you got Giroux in the draft is absolutely criminal.

by Knee high to a duck on Oct 5, 2009 2:52 PM EDT up reply actions

ya it really was, and i feel horrible for you, who the hell could have guessed that luongo would sign that contract and then just blow the first 3 games, maybe it will come out he is injured, at least you have price as a backup……….

by i12swim on Oct 6, 2009 12:24 AM EDT up reply actions

Yeah, I had phone calls about a class project coming in and had to auto-draft after like the third or fourth round. Trying to work with what I have – this is my first league. I’m sure I’ll figure it out.

Re: Luongo. One of my best friends is from Vancouver and is a rabid ‘Nucks fan – he’s been getting a fair ration of crap for his team so far this season, so it’s not a total writeoff.

Baby Got Backes here (abbreviation K_C). Didn’t think I’d get so thoroughly dominated in goalie stats with Nabokov going against Anderson.

Of all our iniquities ignorance may be the worst

I’m as surprised as you are. I thought I would lose that category for sure. The probability that he can keep this up for very long is not that likely though. But for now; Go Avs!
