Caps home opener festivities, with 40% more woooooo. Almost like you were there. Almost.
There will surely be higher-quality versions of this when the owners of said videos work off their hangovers and upload, but there will be none with more heart.
And I adore people who film scoreboards at hockey games and themn post them on the interwebs so I don't have to.

Daang. I’m happy they didn’t show the glamor shots for the lineup.
My dad walked into the room while I was watching and said, “Oh my gahd. I don’t think there’s any other crowd that does that (referring to the sea of red).”
Not so. University of Tennessee does that with orange. So do both the Flyers and the Pens fans, with orange and white respectively, at least during the playoffs. Calgary does it too, I think (the C of red). It’s just that the Caps fans have gotten very, very good at it.
I liked the opener video this year. Put more bass on the pulse sound and it’ll have a huge effect.

My dad doesn’t watch college sports and isn’t that into hockey. He just walked in and made a comment. I wasn’t saying we’re the only ones who do it. Didn’t the Pens have to hand out white shirts for their white out during the playoffs?
Just my opinion but I think handing out shirts for the fans to wear so you have color uniformity is much more lame than the fans wearing their own gear in coordination. In the 08 playoffs I had a big argument that it was more impressive for the Caps to have a mostly Red arena with the fans dressing themselves than it was for PHI to have an all orange arena with handed out T shirts.

I don’t necessarily think it’s lame, but it’s definitely cool that we don’t need to be given no stinkin’ T-shirts. I wouldn’t mind the giveaway, though.
The PHI giveaway I think was just a big orange T that said “Orange Crush.” Not a great hand out.

the thing with having to hand out white t-shirts……really, you don’t own anything white? Not a single white t-shirt? none at all? You have to hand them out at the door to ensure everyone is wearing white?
Personally, I think the red outs (here or Calgary, or anywhere else) is a heck of a lot more visually intimidating than white.
Pens fans, with … white
Yeah…why is that again? Didn’t they get the message about switching to home colors and road whites?
I can’t wait to see this video in person.
