I hit a bit of a speed bump this week, but my dominance reigns supreme.
If you're after gettin' the honey, then you don't go killin' all them bees.
We’ll see about that…

One good week (without your freaking namesake, no less) and now you think you’re tough?
If you're after gettin' the honey, then you don't go killin' all them bees.
Don’t worry, I’ve got a new team name to better reflect what I will be doing to the rest of the league.
Baby Got Backes is now Two Prongered Assault

And in honor of the Labre Division’s dominance I have updated my Avatar.

The Goats say hello from the basement. I swear, my stats are really quite average, not basement-worthy!
Fight, you time-wasting figure skaters!
Summary:
F&B is in first place.
If you're after gettin' the honey, then you don't go killin' all them bees.
addendum:
fleury carrying you to this point. that can’t continue.

Blasphemy!
There are only 3 goalie categories, so obviously my skaters are holding up their end.
If you're after gettin' the honey, then you don't go killin' all them bees.
fleury: 8-0-1.
every other category: 12-7-2.
meh.

Stop looking so deep! I am dominant.
If you're after gettin' the honey, then you don't go killin' all them bees.
while we’re at it, dubinsky is riding my guy’s coattails! good pick-up, though. i would never have guessed he’d end up as 1st line center.

Never guessed? Did you look at the NYR depth chart? If I could have gotten the other half of the Ambiguously Gay Duo I would have.
If you're after gettin' the honey, then you don't go killin' all them bees.
for some reason chris drury is firmly implanted in my brain as a top C, despite having almost never played 1C during his career.

Summary: He’s going down if Set Sail For Fail gets a solid week from Luongo (HAHAHAA) and can manage to be on the + side of the ledger instead of minus a billion.

Yes. Jamie Benn strikes fear into the heart of F&B. You’d be better off if the week ended right now because there is no way I’m letting you have ten points when this is over.
If you're after gettin' the honey, then you don't go killin' all them bees.
Kid can play, but yeah. Not real happy he was the best of what was available after autodraft got finished. Cam Barker probably doesn’t have you quaking, either.

Cam Barker did come up with a GWG last week… too bad our league doesn’t count those.
If you're after gettin' the honey, then you don't go killin' all them bees.
ideally i’d like to see the league count PP points, not PP assists. but otherwise i’m a fan of the scoring system. GWGs are too flukey for me, especially when they come at 1-1 in the first period.

fixed.

PPGs are singlehandedly holding my team near .500. Don’t hate.
by Knee high to a duck on Oct 19, 2009 2:31 PM EDT up reply actions
You’d still get those. I’m with Natty. I also think it’s criminal not to count SHP.
If you're after gettin' the honey, then you don't go killin' all them bees.
Yeah, but they double count, do they not?
I agree on the SHP, in large part because I have Mike Richards.
by Knee high to a duck on Oct 19, 2009 2:51 PM EDT up reply actions
they double count. just think it would be better to double count assists while we’re at it. shooters are still favored by SOGs. in this format (especially with ATOI), ovechkin’s team really should never be below .500.
by Natty Bumppo on Oct 19, 2009 2:55 PM EDT up reply actions
And thus far, +/-. He’s been great in goals, assists, points, shots, ATOI (more commensurate with a defenseman) and +/-. You know the PPG part is going to come around, but Jesus.

I believe in the season wrap up, we’ll discuss new rules/any possible changes(/maybe a keeper option?) but we’ll address it then. I kind of put everything together in a rush, and while pleased with how things have gone, there’s a lot I feel we can do to improve the league, and I’m really glad that everyone’s so into it.
I'm so sick and tired of the refs explaining the calls like this is the NFL.
Agreed. It came together fast and I appreciate that you did it so I don’t want to bitch too hard but there are definitely things that could be improved.
If you're after gettin' the honey, then you don't go killin' all them bees.
And, to be honest, when we do talk about what to change, don’t feel anything is sacred. I can take the criticism (lols sometimes don’t hurt my feelings).
I'm so sick and tired of the refs explaining the calls like this is the NFL.
Well it’s not personal, at least not from me. I think you said you used ESPN default settings so I just transfer my frustration back onto ESPN for being so terribly inept at all things hockey. I’m never going to forgive them for this Kopitar bullshit. Seriously guys, you fucking suck. They had Kopitar ranked lower than Rob Schremp. Fucking pathetic. But hey, I almost got the steal of the draft when I picked Glen Wesley in the final round. I feel a comeback…
If you're after gettin' the honey, then you don't go killin' all them bees.
Lol yeah. The default settings were kind of meh, and I personally don’t like the ATOI category (I feel a different category like hits or another goaltending category would be better), and if you didn’t make the draft, you were basically humped.
Next year I’d prefer an in person draft if there’s more time to put it together – but anything could happen.
I'm so sick and tired of the refs explaining the calls like this is the NFL.
yeah. Erik Johnson maybe, just maybe should have been ranked higher than 896.

And of course Benn goes and gets a goal tonight. I’m being smited for my hubris.
If you're after gettin' the honey, then you don't go killin' all them bees.
In all seriousness, I think he has a real shot to finish in the same neighborhood as Tavares in points and goals this season. Of course, I dropped Michalek to get him because in the OTT footage I saw, he looked awful. The very next game he potted the Hat-Trick with 2 SHG.
Setoguchi produced for me tonight, too. The Sharks spanked the Rangers.

I have Gooch in another league so his performance took the sting off. But yeah, you’re out to a fast start.
If you're after gettin' the honey, then you don't go killin' all them bees.
My other players still have time to bring my +/- down and Luongo still has a few more games to botch.

Yeah, sometimes you just match up poorly that week. It’s a pain when that happens.

Everyone is getting hurt and I’ve gotten discouraged :( Damn you Sedin!
"And next year it will be ours."
And I need a goaltender. Vokoun stinks and Neimi probably won’t get the majority of the starts for Chi, despite Huet’s play.

Vokounstinksplays behind a terrible, terrible defense.
That Ryder analysis was very interesting.

Looking to trade Mikael Samuelsson – he’s getting 1st unit PP time and has 3ppg, 4g and 3A through 7 games, but I need a defenseman more.

no interest in samuelsson, but i’ve posted to the league board both rangers i’m shopping right now:
1) del zotto: 3 G, 2 PPG, 5A, +3, rangers PP QB.
2) sean avery: injury all better, scored 2 PPG in his second game back, and just today promoted to the second line.
Annnd Fleury continues to put up dominating fantasy stats. Damn it all.

But Gonchar is out now so I’m pretty much boned.

He was your best SOG guy, but you probably weren’t going to win that category anyway, I’m really heavy on that.
Fleury is going to win you at least 2 out of the 3 goalie categories and you’re going to win assists. You’re in pretty good shape if my players keep performing as they have been.

Well you’re creaming me in As right now but I haven’t really had any of my guns play yet this week. We’ll see how it shakes out. (Check your inbox re: below)

I’m looking to unload one of my Flyers – I have 3 and I’d like to get down to 1.
Mike Richards, Scott Hartnell, and Matt Carle are all available, along with Mikael Samuelsson – who has another A tonight, by the way.

I was probably owed that, since the game after I picked up Carle was the Caps game.
Vis-a-vis +/-, what did I tell you? Jack Johnson and Vlasic have been disasters in that category this year.
