I don’t really have anything worth getting autographed at the moment. I’m going to hang out and for short roller coaster lines (pending physician clearance)
Because now I can justify browsing and commenting during the work day with the argument that I am promoting my business.
Good luck for that. How’s the rehab going?
I'm so sick and tired of the refs explaining the calls like this is the NFL.
eh, no rehab until its healed, so i have about a month or so. The doc was very clear that he did not think roller coasters were smart at this point, so i had the pleasure of holding my friends jackets and hats all night. Still it was a good time.

Too far away. I apologize that I didn’t offer the tickets up to someone here.

Yeah, I didn’t think of it until yesterday, although I admit it was hemming and hawing until then. I never even had the idea to do that until a guy who sits in front of us was asking if anyone had an extra. I would have given them to him if I had gone to the game last night. I hope I don’t regret not going.
Slightly better run this year, but they really kept to the 75 minute autograph time block.

how did that work? Did people wait in line and then get cut off or did they stop letting people in line at that point?

They had staff people at the end of the line who gently told folks that they had to go. Lines were long (even a Flash/Juice one, go figure), but for the most part were quick.

This coaster was way better after dark, because there’s no lights on the drop, and since it was an overcast night, the drop was all but blind. Fun fun fun!
Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But, if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. If you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away.
Lines for autographs were really long this year. Last year we got almost everyone (not Ovie and Feds and the guys they were paired up with), this year just a handful. Much more of the park was open, which was nice. But it was COLD!
Juice was in front of us for the hotdog line, which was amusing.
Brian Pothier took a couple of extra seconds with everyone to ask them how they were doing, etc. Friendliest guy of the night. Erskine was also really friendly. (If they get video up on those two signing, and some ditzy girl stumbles in front of the camera tripping over her own feet, that’s me. My gymnastics skills have abandoned me!)
Mike Green stayed extra at his table to sign autographs for everyone in his line. I may joke about him being a space cadet, but he was determined to make as many people happy as possible.
Tyler Sloan has the most legible signature of any professional athlete.
Mike Knuble’s little boy made my night. The Knuble children were hovering around the table (occasionally hovering on their father). Knuble was signing our stuff when his little boy leans across the table at me and says “Look, I got my arm painted! That’s my dad’s number!” Sure enough, the whole forearm and hand is cover in “Let’s Go Caps!” and a big 22 and Caps logos. He was very excited to show someone and I was happy to oblige. We exchanged high fives and I confirmed that, yes, his arm was “awesome.”
Ovie in street clothes is still a massive guy.
I was surprised at how many kids were there. Clearly, there are a lot of people plunking down a lot of money for the whole family to have season tickets. (Clearly, my parents didn’t love me enough to do that for me as a kid!)
Um, I think that’s it. The cold and my troublesome knee sent us home a bit early, but the highlight of these things for me is the autographs.
I also had a blast! We only got a few autographs, but that’s only because we had most of them already. After dinner we went over to Ride of Steel – hands down best coaster I’ve ever ridden! When we got in line for our row on the car, Ovi, Semin and Brooksie hopped on the ride right in front of us. They rode twice, and I got a great picture of Semin and Ovi in the front car riding back into the station.
