Brett Hull: Not Selling Anything Bought or Processed...
"I could sit in the office all day, but what would I be doing, playing games on my computer and trying to fool people?" Hull said. "I can tell you this, there's not an hour goes by in the day that I'm not thinking of some way to make the team better."
This article explains his role in full, and it sure as hell reminds me of the Travelling Secretary for the New York Yankees. Odds on him napping under his desk?

Heh, wonder if he told Hicks: “Sir, what I really want to do with my life – what I want to do for a living – is I want to be with your daughter. I’m good at it.”
Hull’s assertion that he knows players and how they fit is priceless in light of completely misjudging how Avery would fit with the Stars. He probably does add decent perspective, but I think, going back to his time in St. Louis, Hull has a blind spot regarding how attention-craving players fit in a locker room. In Detroit and Dallas, there were other alpha dogs to regulate him. In St. Louis, he was the alpha.

Hull’s a clown. Great goal scorer, but a clown. I wouldn’t trust him with any management decisions.
