Around SBN: Beyond The Boxscore's Week 17 MLB Power Rankings

"The Caps have won 11 of 12 and, more importantly, are in much better health with Alexander Semin and Mike Green back in action. Caps fans may not like it -- and judging by my holiday inbox they didn't -- but Washington is better with their third and fourth-leading scorers in the lineup. "

And I was hoping he would actually email me back with some sort of reasoning as to why they were ever 14th to begin with…guess not.

That would involve a sportswriter admitting they were wrong. Not gonna happen my friend.

It’s about as meaningful as the starting lineup in the All-Star game.

I think the Western Conference team is going to pay dearly for the fans’ choice of starting goalie. Backstrom gives Giguere a wedgie and steals his lunch money.

saw this thread last week and threw up in my mouth.

So, apparently, the tsn rankings are predicated on how HEALTHY a team is, not, you know, how WELL it’s playing. Gotta hand it to those geniuses; very innovative…
