It was a lift of the stick…until it became a hook of the stick.
I think I’ve read some of this gentlemen’s online ramblings before!
At the risk of being childish, they’re wicked queahs.
"Good crowd out there tonight, boys, let's really try to win this one."
Let's not forget...
any idiot can write a blog these days, (and any idiot, like me, can write replies). Reading other team’s blogs always risks being offended by the home fanatic’s bias. That never happens here, does it?
I happen to agree that the fans were booing the call and not the injury or Ovie. Bruce knows this, too, but went the route he did for a reason. He’s not dumb.

They gotta realize that they call EVERYTHING nowadays with the stick stuff. You get it even CLOSE to a guy’s hands, and theyre going to call it. Its piddly and ticky tack, but thats the game nowadays

Why does it seem liike...
more and more away games involve the fans booing OV whenever he has the puck? Have there been a bunch of “super secret” games I don’t know about where he had a string of dirty hits??
I don’t get it.
It’s because of a couple of hits (Briere being the worst), how dangerous he is to the opposing fans’ team, and the way he celebrates. The guy is a force on the ice, and opposing fans know he’s likely to score in any given game. On top of that, when he does, he’s going to enjoy it – whether by bringing in his teammates, jumping off the glass (I bet they especially love that one), or starting a dogpile.
Caps fans have booed far less intimidating and exuberant players because of the danger they represent and how they’ve burned the Caps in the past. This is no different.
Ultimately, it’s a sign of respect/fear.
