Let me be the first to say:
YES!
…but how is this going to work? Something’s gotta be up…

Where’s our fan cap-ologist to figure it out for us?

I don’t even know if we need a “cap-ologist”…we all know the status of the salary cap and what it means for Alzner, so I’m curious as to what is in the works to keep him up here. Doubt they call him back up if he’s not going to stay (but I have no idea).

Yep, but apparently he was practicing w/ everyone else today.

Perhaps something is up with Clark. Or Poti’s not quite ready (with another handful of days off after this game, maybe they’ll hold him out one more game).

He sucks. :( It’s sad too, because from what I hear, he’s a really great guy. You can tell he’s trying his hardest, but something just hasn’t been there since the end of 06-07. Maybe it’s injuries, maybe it’s not skating on the top line any more. Either way, that “bargain” contract he signed is starting to look a bit like a millstone instead.
My friend and I had a joking conversation, saying that most people who bash Clark likely have only been fans for a year.
Not to say you haven’t been a fan your whole life, just because it’s hard to break a like on a guy because of struggles after seeing the guy shine. The man is in a terrible slump. Whether he can bounce back is the next important thing.
I love the guy. He’s got grit, tenacity, and (until recently) a decent shot. Now, he’s basically just a grit/tenacity guy. I’d rather have Clark over, say, Rene Bourque. At least the guy is clean.
And don’t dog him if he won’t stand in front of the goalie on power plays. After getting half of his ear ripped off and taking an Ovie slap shot to the mouth, Captain Cadaver can play on the power play or not wherever he damn well pleases.
Football's boring. Get over it.
There’s only 3 things I can think of that make this work.
1.) Someone’s traded (very unlikely IMO)
2.) Someone’s on LTIR (Poti still perhaps, which would be terrible, or maybe Mo, which wouldn’t matter too much right now but would be a bit of a drag)
3.) The CBA bonus cushion has been quietly reinstated (best case scenario, especially since it pretty much makes trades possible around the league cough NylandertoChicagoeventhoughIbetthatshiphassailed cough
Someone’s gotta be hurt still, I doubt we are moving anyone via trade or waiver.

My guess its Poti - and he wont be back anytime soon.
Poti’s groin injury will linger much like Clark’s last year; or even Sutherby’s the year before that. They aren’t saying how bad it is, but playing on the VC ice does not help (ask that Kanuble about that VC ice)
I seriously doubt we’ll see Poti (playing consistently) anytime soon. Earliest I’d say is March.
I hope I’m dead wrong thought.
