Got him with one of the draft picks we received for losing Scott Stevens…
I’d still rather have had Stevens (limo activities included)

Witter
WOO HOO!
It’s a shame he’s about as mobile as a tree trunk now, which is clearly less than ‘as mobile as an 18-wheeler’ which is what he used to be.
One of the truly nice guys off the rink. His wife and kid sat about 3 rows in front of me when they had the cheap seats down low behind the net the Caps shot once at. During the warm up, his wife and daughter would walk down to the glass and he’d always stop and say hi to them. My wife took a photo of this and gave it to Mrs. Witt after one game.
Another Witt story, just after his first was born, I took a friend of mine and his daughter to a Caps autograph signing event. When my friend introduced his daughter to Witter, he smiled up at her, pulled out his wallet and showed off photos of his new born daughter to her with the “proud papa” grin.
Truly a class act.
Toughness
His brand of hockey has been sorely missed on this club. Wish we could trade Shultz or Erskine for him.
