A center? Could Boyd Gordon be back on the shelf?

It’s an interesting move, especially given that Gabby had split up Ovechkin and Backstrom at the end of the game Tuesday. Further, Ovechkin played with Aucoin in the preseason and liked him. I’m not saying Aucoin will end up centering Ovie, but if you wanted to take a flyer on a guy in your fantasy pool, this could be a good gamble.

If a 5-9, 180-pound career-AHLer can hold his own in the defensive end against a top unit — and we are talking about NYI here — that seems like a fine 5-on-5 idea. Tempting at the very least.

Talk about a mite on ice. Watching him at the morning skate, this guy makes C-Bo seem statuesque.

I bet you guys had kinda forgotten all about him. I’ll admit that I had.

Not really – hard to forgetting a guy who’s leading the AHL in scoring.

I see he’s centering the line with Flash and Koz. And he’s wearing #20 – if he dishes the puck around like Pivonka, he’ll be just fine. :)

You may recall that after signing with the Caps this summer but before reporting to training camp in September, BMo took a trip to the Canadian wilderness for charity.

Despite the "mosquitos as big as seagulls", the participants all survived and emerged from the woods to a tasty homestyle Hornpayne feast.
