Further quote from Drury:

"That could be the point that gets us home-ice advantage," Drury said. "I’m certainly not going to let it ruin my Christmas and I don’t think anyone here is going to let it ruin their break, either."

Wouldn’t you want it to “ruin their break” (or for them to at least pretend to think about it a bit) if the shoe was on the other foot and the Caps had blown that lead?

Doesn't he wear the 'C'?

Wow. What an inspiring display of leadership.

That 8-1 shootout record will prove useful in the playoffs too, I imagine.

According to Vogs, the Rags have just two regulation wins in their last 18 games. That’s unreal.

Full Quote?

The full quotes, according to this site is not quite as egregious:

"That could be the point that gets us home-ice advantage. I’m certainly not going to let it ruin my Christmas and I don’t think anyone here is going to let it ruin their break, either.
"There are 24 others teams in this league who would be dying to have our record, with all the points we’ve accumulated over a tough schedule. It’s certainly not a good way to get a point. But it’s over and done with. It’s already in the garbage can as far as I’m concerned."

But that’s still not exactly something you want to hear from your captain.

Yeah, that’s bad. You just BLEW a 4-0 lead and that’s what you have to say for yourself? Look out below, buddy, because the Flyers are challenging you for that top spot in case you hadn’t noticed. You’d best get busy.

This was what I was saying about attitude earlier. The Rangers will be lucky to make the playoffs with that attitude. They are leaning on Lundqvist too much, and while I will be the first to say that Lundqvist is a mighty beast of a goaltender and worth every penny he’s paid, there’s still the other half of the team to consider.

Up here in MSG-land for the holidays and fortunately, the hockey coverage is great. I couldn’t believe it when AO landed in the studio with Al Trautwig just minutes after the game ended, all sweaty and prepared to answer questions on why he’s the next messiah. Not really but he was still dripping.

I was struck by the difference between what Drury and Renney had to say about the significance of this game. Drury says forget it and Renney says learn from it. Who cares about the Rangers but that team has big problems of the multi-million dollar variety. We might bitch about wasting cap space on a couple of less than useful players but they’ve got half a dozen bad signings littering their line-up.

We all grilled the Sabres for it

but they are better off without Drury and Briere (but not Brian Campbell). I would take Vanek and Roy over Drury and Briere anyday.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words—"mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

Hey it beats something like:

“Hey, screw it, we still lead the division, you media guys gotta get off our case, especially you Larry Brooks, besides I gotta get outta here and take the kids to Wally World for Christmas…” Maybe the Rangers need some more grit back in the lineup, I heard Dallas would be glad to have them pick up Sean Avery – I bet both teams could makeup, it’d be nice to see another team pay part of a Rangers salary for a few years…;→
