[Cap of the Day is a shameless rip of a regular FanPost feature over at Pension Plan Puppets, but that doesn't make it any less fun to remember some of the greats - and not-so-greats - in Caps history]

It was nice of him to pose in front of the Lincoln Memorial like that.

I still remember the night the Caps debuted the “Craig Berube for Lady Byng Trophy” campaign. They get all dramatic about the trophy and then, in the booming voice,
“This year the Caps nominate Craig Berube.” and they show some of his highlights… the Caps weren’t expecting it to be sure and neither were the opponents as both benches were cracking up at this video (the only other time I had seen both benches laugh at a video was when the Caps did “Shark Repellant” scene from the old Batman series when they played the Sharks…why the heck did the Batcopter have shark repellant???).
Great stuff.
Also I think the real highlight of Berube’s career had to have been Dale Hunter’s 1000th point. Berube scored the goal, set up by Hunter against Philly at the Phone Booth…
