Makes absolutely no sense. The NHL is the last league in the world that should be this antagonistic to its fans.

There’s another televised game starting at 4:30. If they’re trying to be the only game on, then this makes no sense. If they want a “game of the week” then pick a night when that’s the only game on.

I can’t think of a game I’d Less like to watch. A team I loathe Vs. a team that I couldn’t care less about. This was much more fun when the teams were the Phillies and the Rays.

The one upside I see is that maybe Avery will redirect some of his ire towards Bettman and that could be pretty fucking funny.

am I the only one who finds it kind of sickening that he has been suspended for this? ‘sloppy seconds’ is now considered an obscene sexual reference? i think the stones move would have been saying, that while the NHL doesn’t approve of such comments, sean avery is entitled to his opinions and feelings. if i’m avery i am all up in bettman with legal proceedings. what the faak is this world coming to???
Not even any highlights on Vs.
Just watched the intermission hoping to get a viddie of Backstrom’s goal but alas, nothing. Not even a mention of the Caps game. It’s like they don’t want to even acknowledge their gaff. As a long time fan, I’m used to the Caps being treated like a red headed stepchild but I thought we’ve moved beyond that status now. This really pisses me off.

Apparently the phrase “sloppy seconds” is so graphic and vulgar to get Avery suspended, but not so much so that the footage can’t be shown, and repeated by commentators on both Vs. and TSN

Wow. What an absolutely dead Verizon Center tonight…….vintage ‘03-’04, when you could hear fans’ sidebar conversations across the arena while the Doig-Boumedienne defensive pairing put on a show.
And yes, I did Google the roster for that year to grab a couple of scrub names.

several friends of mine who attended the game reported that it was the play of the caps that was putrid. why would they be into it?

by far the worst game i’ve seen or attended in teh past 2-3 yrs. the Caps played like SHIT.
D-men refused to check anyone. Jurcina is a fucking bitch and needs to be benched. Lepisto is visibly afraid of going anywhere near the boards and caused issues in his own zone because of that.
Steckel…really? aren;t you supposed to be one of our better PKers? so you sling shot the puck to Alzner in front of your own net instead of clearing it or banging it off the boards. fuckin-a. game was over after the own goal.
forecheck was crap. only a few instances where it was noticeable. Backstrom did pretty well but there’s only so much one line can do.
left with 3:30 left in the game when they were doen 1-4. brought some friends to see the Caps for the first time since they got “good” and was embarrassed by what they saw.
CRAP!!!
P.S.
It would not be out ogf place for Gabby to bitch slap the entire team after tonight’s performance
