I’m DELIGHTED that tonight’s game won’t be on CSN. Big plus for picture-quality.

No Versus here, so I’m rolling with Kolbe tonight.
by marky narc on Dec 16, 2008 6:51 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I swear he once exclaimed on the air, “Great save by Kolbe!” (as opposed to Kolzig, in response to a Kolzig save). I can’t prove it, but it happened (this was very late 90s-early 00s, when Kolzig was goalie).

It’s weird…sometimes CSN HD is beautiful, and other times it isn’t even HD. If I have to listen to Joe B. though, I guess I’d rather listen to him on CSN, where he’s allowed to display a bit of “homerism”.

If you feel the need to curse, go for it. Cursing for the sake of cursing, however, is discouraged. And no cursing at other people. Shit like that.

It’s somehow reassuring that JoeB’s intro’s for Versus are just as cheesy as his intros for CSN.

Golf
For some reason, Comcast (Arlington) had Versus HD as the Golf channel (non-HD) last night when I tried to watch hockey. I’m glad they got it right tonight.
by boz on Dec 16, 2008 8:10 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
The golf channel and Versus used to share an HD channel, but they just split like a week or two ago so each channel has it’s own HD counterpart…part of the reason why VsHD has moved around on a lot of cable/satellite systems recently.

We have had a couple real good looking break outs in this game.
Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words—"mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

Depth
It’s a benefit to having depth. A team like the Islanders might be able to neutralize one or two strong lines by playing their best players balls-out against them. But the Caps really benefit by running that fourth line and actually having pretty good players there. The Islanders are forced to match their third or fourth line (who don’t match up well) or get their first two lines tired.
Like Jobe says, it’s nice now, it’ll be great in the playoffs.
