It’s weird…sometimes CSN HD is beautiful, and other times it isn’t even HD. If I have to listen to Joe B. though, I guess I’d rather listen to him on CSN, where he’s allowed to display a bit of “homerism”.

MPAA Rating?
I’ll admit it: I love cussing.
Dear J.P.: What are The Rules around here for things of that nature?
Pick SPG for your chance to win probably nothing.
If you feel the need to curse, go for it. Cursing for the sake of cursing, however, is discouraged. And no cursing at other people. Shit like that.

Wait – why can’t I find Versus HD on Comcast Montgomery County?
Japers' Rink: Hockey blogging from the most powerful city in the world
Nevermind – they went and changed channels on me. But I’m good now.

Golf
For some reason, Comcast (Arlington) had Versus HD as the Golf channel (non-HD) last night when I tried to watch hockey. I’m glad they got it right tonight.
The golf channel and Versus used to share an HD channel, but they just split like a week or two ago so each channel has it’s own HD counterpart…part of the reason why VsHD has moved around on a lot of cable/satellite systems recently.

I hate how VS. always looks washed out and the ice is always too white.

it’s better now, but I still have these blue and orange pieces of crap moving around the screen…

I bet Versus sounds pretty silly talking about Alex Ovechkin so much. I mean, BOYD GORDON IS AN OFFENSIVE FORCE.
Mother-in-law, wife & baby got home JUST IN TIME for me to change a diaper and miss the goal by Gordo.
Pick SPG for your chance to win probably nothing.
Hopefully the diaper was worth it.
Japers' Rink: Hockey blogging from the most powerful city in the world
Btw, who was that Isles “D” who let Gordon smack at the puck until he scored? Meyer?
Japers' Rink: Hockey blogging from the most powerful city in the world
He might try freezing it before feeling that way.
Japers' Rink: Hockey blogging from the most powerful city in the world
NYI’s D coverage is, um, sub-NHL caliber
Japers' Rink: Hockey blogging from the most powerful city in the world
Is the dude doing the game with Joe B. on ‘ludes or is it that I’m just so used to Locker?

Mike Comrie’s not playing. Does that mean I can’t link to his GF? Too late:

And yes, that’s what she said.
Japers' Rink: Hockey blogging from the most powerful city in the world
Yeah, how Joe B. doesn’t have a little background on that is beyond me. Except that it’s not.
Japers' Rink: Hockey blogging from the most powerful city in the world
Sigh. Bradley fighting.
Good for him going after him, though.

I don’t care if he was a fan-favorite.
I hate Brenda Twitt.

I missed the NYI and 2nd WSH goals (bathing the baby, and no, that’s not a euphemism). What’d I miss?
Japers' Rink: Hockey blogging from the most powerful city in the world
Got me. I was making stupid formula.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words—"mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

Yeah
I think I just heard him drop an F-Bomb

There’s the shot chart for the 2nd so far. How does one get credited with a shot from the corner behind the goal line?
Good question. Whose shot was it?

If it hits the goaltender? Potentially being knocked in? Why don’t we know this?

It’s gotta be a mistake. You can’t get a SOG from behind the net unless it goes in the net (since ever goal has to be a shot on goal).

Yeah, I wouldn’t mind if the Caps extended the lead a bit and then a message was sent.
Japers' Rink: Hockey blogging from the most powerful city in the world
Depth
It’s a benefit to having depth. A team like the Islanders might be able to neutralize one or two strong lines by playing their best players balls-out against them. But the Caps really benefit by running that fourth line and actually having pretty good players there. The Islanders are forced to match their third or fourth line (who don’t match up well) or get their first two lines tired.
Like Jobe says, it’s nice now, it’ll be great in the playoffs.
Jesus Christ. Want to let ’em back into the game?
Japers' Rink: Hockey blogging from the most powerful city in the world
33 SOG for the Caps through two.

A little bias perhaps, but
Yahoo! Sports is showing the Chicago at Edmonton game at 9:30EST. Was hoping for this one.
Best they could do? We’re gonna need a serious Blackhawk purging from our systems come summer. Every time we turn around it’s Hawks this and Hawks that.
Then again, they are 15-6-7 in a big market.

Mike Green with some solid defense.

17 to 5 shots on goal in the 3rd.
Caps are lucky to be even in it.
I don’t know if it’s a road issue or a crappy opponent issue – they weren’t good at home against Florida recently.

I probably should have said poor Isles fans. Stay strong, brother. Eventually the Isles will get a rebuild right.
Heh, thanks. I think they’re finally doing it now (assuming they stick with it, a BIG assumption in the past). It’s just gonna be a loooong haul.
I feel bad for Witt. They extended him over the summer, out of the blue, and he was thrilled. The right sentimental move, but maybe not the right hockey move. The man destroys his body out there.

PPG
Did the Caps get one tonight? It seemed much better w/o Green and Semin. Much more straight forward.
ehhhh?
no, they had just a tad over four minutes of time on PPs. the first PP they were in the zone for nearly the entire time. as for the other comment, i’ll assume you were drunk, since Green has 7 PPG and Semin is, well, Semin. :-)
