At least he’s not encouraging further, er, bombardment of MSG.

I like the idea, but whenever I read the Pensblog I get a little sad because there are a lot of Pens fans who hate Ovechkin because he plays for the Capitals, and I don’t think you can appreciate what Ovechkin can do if you’re watching him through that lens of animosity.

DMG,
I certainly viewed Lemieux’s career through that lens, and Crosby’s and Malkin’s now.

Amen
I can be rational about Crosby and Malkin (….for now), but good lord I hate Mario Lemieux and everything he has ever done and everything he stands for (except, believe it or not, keeping the Pens on life support). In my mind, he is the most contemptable player in NHL history. Sean Avery, you can consider that a personal challenge.

Exact opposite for me
I think Mario stands above petty rivalries. Though, I sure hate me some Crosby and Malkin. I can appreciate Malkin’s greatness, but I won’t budge an inch on Crosby. It’s not that I’m biased towards Ovechkin either. I could actually take Zetterberg and/or Datsyuk over Ovechkin.
Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words—"mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

yeah it always easy to stand above petty rivals when the your petty rivals are insignificant bugs hardly worthy of your notice

NEVER
never never never never never
i will vote for all canadiens, before i cast one vote, think one happy thought about, buy one piece of merchandise for, loan a fire-extinguisher to a burning member of, or even except the anitdote (to the poison i just drank heheheh) from…ANY MEMBER OF THE PENGUINS EVER FOR ANY REASON…
ever…hockey is a game
this is cleanest answer i can give

Luke, the day the Pensblog made a fuss about Crosby is the day he shot up in the rankings past the all the Canadiens….And then the day (yesterday I believe) they made a big deal about voting for Malkin he made up a ridiculous amount of votes in no time flat. Perhaps it’s somewhat coincidental, but the results speak for themselves.
If you want Ovechkin in the game, you ought to be a good sport, suck it up and hold your end of the bargain up. Heck, feel lucky they chose Ovechkin, if they had a few more weeks of voting they could have probably rallied for Jordan Staal as the 3rd forward.
If you could click for Fleury too that would be just swell. :)

I’m pretty sure Ovechkin’s going to be in the game whether he’s voted in the fans or not.

Yeah
But why not make him a starter like he deserves?

Compensation
In return, we should vote Gonchar in as a Caps alum and to prove the idiocy of fan voting.

Sounds like a pretty decent plan to me. I’m no Pens fan, but the best players should play
together in the ASG, and that’s that.
I threw in a vote for Malkin in return. Seemed fair, but I just couldn’t do it for Crosby.

Oh look, some classless trolls wanna do the Caps a solid. Thanks but no thanks. I’d rather the fan balloting be exposed for the joke it is.

ok…for a second i will put aside how incredibly useless i feel the all-star game is…and i do mean incredibly useless (given a choice id have NO capitals play in it)
BUT TO SIDE WITH THE PENGUINS AND THEIR FANS, THE “RELIGIOUS RIGHT OF THE HOCKEY WORLD” IS SIMPLY UNBELIEVABLE.
everyone who is genuinely considering this should really stop to think of all those games against that team. what that team means to this city…if you really want to vote…vote FOR the canadiens, i dont care about crosby or the geico-caveman.
hell to this day i dont completely like bradley cause he spent a whole season there.

and you know what.?…the heck with it….
can ANYONE give me a really good reason why the all-star game exists aside from the fact that every other sports does it and it would be weird if we didn’t?

Oh, I read it. I voted. One of the 623 votes for Craig Anderson is mine. Look at his SV%.

I jump started a car last night
and one of the passengers was a dude in a Pens jersey. He and his buddy went to the Caps game last night. That should be enough of a good deed to get pensbloggers voting for Ovechkin.
