I'll be there

Looking forward to getting a close-up look at the brand new Caps. There should be plenty of energy from the kids tonight, just hope they play their game and not try to do too much.

Your voice of doom and gloom.

Nylander’s got more jump in his step than I’ve seen him have all year.

by David M. Getz on Nov 26, 2008 8:13 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Nylander does looks sharp out there. for that matter, so does the whole team.

by ns on Nov 26, 2008 8:15 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Yeah, the whole team looks pretty damn good (and our defense can CLEAR THE ZONE NOW HOLY SHIT!) but let’s remember who we’re playing before we get TOO excited about our new additions. Enjoy it, but don’t be mislead by Atlanta. Let’s hope friday is also an ass-whooping day.

by Hazardous on Nov 26, 2008 8:41 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Hazardous – i was thinking the same thing but didnt want to come off a fun-sucker. Not only is ATL not very good, they’re also a little tired…..

by Pi on Nov 26, 2008 8:59 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

That’s a good point. Good AHL players should play well against Atlanta (that’s the sorry truth for the team right now) but seeing how they play against Montreal will tell us a lot more.

Alzner’s looked very solid for a kid his age in his first NHL game. Not too excited, making smart plays, and looks like he has great instincts.

Friday

Habs up 3-0 at Detroit…..

Lepisto seemed outmatched a lot during this game. All the other call ups i thought did great.

by ns on Nov 26, 2008 10:04 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Lepisto’s a little undersized for an NHL defenseman and I feel like that sometimes watching him. But he did finish +1 with that nice assist and two hits.

You may recall that after signing with the Caps this summer but before reporting to training camp in September, BMo took a trip to the Canadian wilderness for charity.

Despite the "mosquitos as big as seagulls", the participants all survived and emerged from the woods to a tasty homestyle Hornpayne feast.

There's a lot more Brad May and Kris King than #9 in this clip, but we get a little flavor of how the Caps' second line center spent his summer vacation.
