Huh?
OK, that last entry was a little bizarre, but at least it formed an intelligent and coherent thought, unlike this paragraph from Mike "Possibly Right, But For The Wrong Reasons" Toth:"With his energy, charisma and hip-hop attitude, Alex Ovechkin seems more Washington Wizard than Washington Capital. Yes, the NHL is fortunate that this hockey-crazed fool didn't follow in his mother's famous footsteps. Tatiana Ovechkin won a pair of Olympic gold medals playing basketball for Russia and it's not hard to imagine Ovechkin as a Steve Nash-style point guard. But the NBA's loss is the NHL's gain, with Ovechkin serving as the chocolate to go with the more vanilla personality of Sidney Crosby.[]"
And this on the heels of Terry Frei's Olympics-inspired mess of an article. I shudder to think what these guys will be writing if hockey doesn't get here real soon.

I take issue with the 'hip-hop attitude' comment. Ovechkin does play with unbridled enthusiasm, but from what I've seen he is a team player - and a very committed and hard-working one at that. Having some personality and flair does not necessarily put one in the 'hip-hop' camp. Brett Hull, Pavel Bure and Patrick Roy had charisma too. There's a huge difference between that and what we routinely see in the NBA...

And there was this one from that huge Russian interview off the Ovetjkin blog:
When was the last time you felt a real anger?
It is a very rare state for me. Last year there was a crazy moment in St. Petersburg arena. I was sitting there, pulled out a chocolate bar. The guard rushes in. "It's forbidden! Not allowed!" Makes no sense. Human's stupidity.
