Jaromir Jagr had this to say of Michael Nylander's departure: "I am little disappointed the Rangers were not able to keep Nylander on the team. It was really good for me to play with him. We played together for 2 years with the Rangers and 1 year in Washington. We worked well together and knew what to expect from one another."
